  • Abstract
In clinical hyperthermia, the insertion of an interstitial microwave antenna array for the treatment of cancer is such that obtaining parallel arrays is nearly impossible. The effect of these variable antenna posit ions on the electric field produced within the array, and hence the SAR distribution, is therefore a factor that must be considered when modelling such an interstitial design. This paper investigates the effect of this displacement on the SAR distributions produced by such antenna arrays.
