Abstract :
In this paper we propose novel broadcast schemes for wireless Ad Hoc networks with highly interfered and noisy links. We exploit network coding for disseminating some broadcast packets sent from the same source in the network. We present three broadcast schemes, namely NC1, NC2, and NC3, and compare them with the well known blind flooding scheme. These schemes are simulated and compared in underwater acoustic networks in which the wireless channel suffers from issues like noise, delay, and collision. The simulation results verify that using our proposed methods the performance of broadcasting is significantly improved in terms of the average broadcast reachability and energy consumption.
