  • Abstract
    "Diaojiaolou" (the Tujia people\´s traditional houses) are reelusiving in the area of Chongqing\´s southeast. The paper investigate their basic types (such as I, L, U shape, quadrangle and the other varietal types) and characteristics. The paper also analyses the causes and the wisdoms of "Diaojiaolou" that are the antiquated inhabitancy wisdom because of it was "Chinese beautiful former residence" from the viewpoints of historical origin, the contemporary suitability wisdom from the viewpoints of landform, climate, technique,economy and life style, and the aesthetic wisdom from the viewpoints of the holistic "Fengshui" surroundings and landscape, the image of architecture and the detail decorations. Finaly, the paper conclude that "Diaojiaolou" are worth to be inherited and sustainable developed.
