Abstract :
Maritime radio navigation system which installs on ships, mainly works in the MW and SW bands, depends on the ground waves to range position, and is provided with high positioning accuracy, wide coverage and good security. However, as the large signal wavelength of the band, the receiver usually adopts a large whip antenna as the signal receiving equipment, which is so large that to become a technical difficulty of equipment miniaturization. To solve this problem, this paper proposes a new-designed double-Hilbert fractal antenna whose height is only 13 cm. We have conducted simulation experiments of the antenna using the CST Microwave Laboratory, the simulation results show that the antenna can work in 2~6 MHz of MW and SW Section with the characteristics of omni-direction, low profile and wide-band which meets requirements of the navigation system working in the MW and SW section.
