Abstract
A new non-separable model for color halftoning is presented. This model forms the basis of “model-based” techniques and it accounts for the distortions caused by “dot-overlap” and imperfect inks. We calculate the color difference in the CIE La*b* color space in order to reproduce the color more precisely. A measuring method of patches is used to deal with the imperfect inks, and the dot-overlap model and Neugebauer equations are used to represent the color printer model. This approach offer more a complex but better color reproduction
