            Abstract : 
We study boundary and transition filters in adaptive para-unitary FIR filter banks. In particular we are interested in the design of optimal boundary and transition filters. We show that there exists (i) a very simple procedure to compute non-optimized boundary and transition filters, and (ii) a non-iterative method to refine these non-optimized filters into filters which are optimal in a weighted MSE sense in the Fourier domain. The paper ends with a short discussion on extensions to multiple dimensions
