Abstract :
This paper presents a method to find the steady-state voltage stability region for each bus of a distribution power system, considering the presence of wind power generation. The maximum permissible load of each bus is calculated, so that it can operate with the voltage within the limits allowed by the power system utilities. The voltage stability region boundary is determined by plotting the P-Q curve of each load bus. All the combination of the P and Q values in this region is a stable and secure operating point. The methodology was applied on a simple two-bus power system and the results are very close to those obtained by using the analytical solution. The method is computationally efficient and it is suitable for online monitoring load bus bars of transmission and distribution power systems.
