Abstract
In this paper, dielectrics and metal patches are located alternatively in a periodic structure along the direction of propagation in a WR-90 waveguide to make a composite left-right handed transmission line structure. The structure shows multi frequency bands, if dielectrics of different permittivity are used periodically. Left-handed behavior and stop bands are observed below and after the cut off frequency of the waveguide, respectively. The distinctive characteristic of this structure is its bended shape, which makes it function over the frequency range of the dominant TE10 mode, by using dielectric materials with relative permittivity below 10.
