Abstract :
A system is described for the determination of a pilot´s direction of regard using imagery obtained from a helmet mounted camera. Image enhancement and feature extraction algorithms are utilised to locate salient features in the imagery which are used to calculate the direction of regard. Emphasis is placed on the robustness and accuracy of the determination. An overview of the algorithms is presented along with some of the results obtained
