Abstract :
A 2D integrative model about Changjiang River Estuary coupled with astronomic tide and storm surge is established by using the Delft3D software, and validated by field measured data. Based on the simulated bottom velocity of the coupling model, four widely used sediment incipient velocity formulas are chosen to compute the sediment incipient velocity under the combined forces of tidal currents and storm surges. The numerical results show that Dou Guoren´s sediment incipient velocity formula is the most appropriate and suitable for the sediment transport in the Changjiang River Estuary.
