Under the background of present urban spatial characteristic in china gradually been lost , the influence about the current planning decision-making mechanism to the urban spatial characteristics has been studied. From the view of normative studying . Not only did it describe three dimensions of urban spatial characteristics, but also analyzed the main cause which the economic system reform, multiple main body participation, and the complexity of decision-making influenced urban spatial characteristics. Finally, allowing for a series of planning decision problems,such as the separation of duty and right in decision-making process , the discontinuities in decision making process , the wrong value of the main decision-maker , the single main participant , It put forward four optimization measures in order to shape the city features.
