Abstract :
This paper derives the closed-form bit-error-rate (BER) expression for multiple-input multiple-output (MIMO) system with impulsive noise by using bi-parameter Cauchy-Gaussian mixture approximation. So far, little research has been investigated on analyzing MIMO system with impulsive noise, because the closed-form of the probability density function (pdf) of the impulsive noise does not exist except for several cases. In this paper, we first approximate the pdf of the impulsive noise component in the zero-forcing output by using the bi-parameter Cauchy-Gaussian mixture model, and then derive the closed-form BER expression. Computer simulation results demonstrate the validity of the proposed theoretical analysis.
