From the perspective of sustainable development, the paper analyzes the influence of mega-events on urban land use and sustainable development, including abnormal land appreciation and "edge effect" of the core land, and puts forward strategies for sustainable development, including: the relevance of land development and reasonable mechanism of land use. The paper selects the city of Guangzhou as a case for in-depth analysis. It aims to reveal the gradual influence of mega-events on urban land use, and to reflect on the relationship between them.
