Abstract :
An application of a methodology to identify a real synchronous generator is implemented in this paper. The methodology requires online measurements of signals with the generator in service, and it is applied to a third order nonlinear model of a synchronous generator. In this study the field voltage is considered as the input and the active output power and the terminal voltage are considered as the outputs of the synchronous generators. The method has been tested on real synchronous machine. Experimental results show good accuracy of the identified model and robustness of the algorithm following severe changes in the operating conditions.
