Abstract
Cooperative diversity network has been recently proposed as a way to form virtual antenna arrays that can be used to improve the performance of the wireless network. This paper presents a novel adaptive cooperative diversity scheme with two relays using incremental relaying (TR) protocol. The destination terminal can decide which transmit path will be used according the channel state information. Closed-form expressions for the bit error rate (BER) and the signal-to-noise ratio (SNR) outage probability are given. Results show that the adaptive relaying cooperative diversity protocol significantly improves the BER performance and outage performance in comparison with the direct transmission and IR protocol.
