Abstract :
At the Institute of Automatic Control at Darmstadt University of Technology, internal combustion engines are investigated on a dynamical engine test stand. During the experiments it became obvious, that ordinary time synchronous filtering of the measured signals is not suitable for this special application. In the article the signal characteristics of an internal combustion which requires a new filtering approach is explained. Crank angle synchronous data acquisition and moving average filtering is given and the properties of CASMA filtering lead to a summary and conclusions
