Abstract :
The Brazilian National Power Grid Operator - ONS - has successfully completed the design and specification of the next generation set of four SCADA/EMS systems that will support the real-time operation of the Brazilian power system. The main goal of this new concept is to provide a unique and synchronized platform architecture (named REGER, Energy Management Network in Portuguese) for all five control centers that are located in the cities of Brasilia, Rio de Janeiro, Recife and Florianopolis.
