Abstract :
This paper focus on the three-dimensional (3D) reconstruction of several medical image datasets based on Visualization Toolkit (VTK). In this paper, two types of rendering method, surface rendering and volume rendering, are studied based on the visual process. The marching cubes algorithm was used for surface rendering, and Ray-casting algorithm was used for volume rendering. The function of initial roaming was implemented based on the information in the views. Finally, the initial CT image 3D reconstruction and visualization system was designed with C++ Builder developing environment.
