Title :
Operational and strategic implications of powering the fiber loop
Author :
Petruziello, David
Abstract :
The author highlights operational and strategic implications associated with the powering of digital line carrier/fiber-optic systems in the loop and in future fiber to the home (FTTH) systems. An examination of powering for existing feeder plant and future FTTH systems is presented. Technologies are examined, major issues are identified, and a series of recommendations is given
