Abstract :
This paper presents results of an investigation of the optimum signal processor for passive time delay estimation in a multisensor, multitarget environment. Target-sensor geometry is assumed stationary over the observation interval. In this paper, performance of the optimum processor, in terms of the Cramer-Rao Lower Bound, is presented; bias and variance characteristics of the conventional time delay processor are discussed; and performance comparisons between the optimum and the conventional processors are made.
