Abstract :
Ocular artifact (OA) is a collective term used to represent EEG contaminating potentials caused by eye movements and blinks. The removal of ocular artifacts from EEG is a problem whose importance has long been established. The joint approximation diagonalisation of eigenmatrices (JADE) method for OA removal is studied. Through deriving a topographic component map, the component representing the OA can be found. So the method can remove artifactual component. The result demonstrates that the JADE is a generally applicable and effective method for removing OA from EEG records.
