Abstract :
Applying self-made questionnaires to 956 university students from five universities and colleges in Zhengzhou, Henan, China, the survey is made to gauge the characteristic features of their ideals and belief. The result shows that, to some extent, they entertain a sense of responsibility politically and socially, yet more utility in their participation motives. They take a positive and confident approach towards life, but too much go in for material comforts. They own various and feasible professional ideals and belief, but are poor in anti-frustration. They have a strong sense of moral identity, but weak awareness to put it in practice. Having finished a systematic analysis of the problems related, I put forward some constructive suggestions on the education of ideals and belief, so that university students in higher education institutions can benefit in a scientific and effective way.
