Abstract :
The particle swarm optimization (PSO) algorithm, is a robust stochastic evolutionary algorithm based on the movement and intelligence of swarms. In this paper, a PSO-based algorithm for color image quantization is presented. Compared with other well-known color image quantization algorithm in commonly used images, the proposed algorithm is effective and achieves a quite fast executing speed.
