Abstract :
This paper discusses the interpretation of greyscale aerial photographs of rural areas, for the purposes of electrical reticulation. The emphasis of the interpretation process is on the identification of houses, buildings and other man-made structures. A novel building extraction strategy is presented which uses a texture measure as its starting point
