Abstract :
The paper is concerned with the problem of decentralized state estimation of an interconnected system for which separate measurements on the interaction among the sub systems are assumed to be available. It is proposed that a minimal order interaction dynamics be first identified for the selected subsystem and that this dynamics be adjoined to the internal dynamics of the subsystem in order to obtain the equivalent model. Results of application of this approach to a four area power system are briefly discussed.
