Abstract :
A method of the syntactic pattern recognition for the ECG arrhythmia analysis is described. An ECG trace in the fon of digital data is converted into a string of some specific symbols. And a context-free grammar is established for each kind of arrhythmias. If the noise threshold is appropriate, the error-free Earley algorithm can be used for the parsing of the string, and give a good discrimination between the arrhythmias. The method can keep the information of ECG structure and reduce the necessary storage.
