            Abstract :
In order to improve teaching quality and innovative development application ability of students, a series of teaching reforms and innovations are put forward in digital image processing course in this paper, especially including textbook-picking, in-class teaching method, and extremely interesting and practical experiment examples, such as face recognition, information-hiding-based secret communication, image forgery and batch image encryption projects with help of the tractable Matlab tool. Howbeit the fact this course needs students have a strong basic in mathematics due to the interdisciplinary characteristics, both extensive feedbacks from students and final examinations demonstrate that our designed teaching mode can significantly inspire students´ interests of studying image processing course and enhance their development application ability. The results can also offer an important reference in the way of exploring teaching innovations for the other related teaching workers.
