Abstract :
While the performance of optical direct-sequence CDMA systems may be quite poor under high load conditions, there are means to drastically reduce the bit error probability with even simple multiuser detection methods. A very simple averaging method is demonstrated on a synchronous optical CDMA system with a prime code. The method is simple but efficient. It is suited to increase the performance of optical DS-CDMA systems significantly. The method is described analytically, and simulation results are presented
