LT coding over the network

LT codes promise reliable transmissions of data between peers and have been proven as a method especially suitable for multimedia multicast and broadcast applications. In this paper we study a model in which broadcast is carried out over a wireless multi-hop network by taking advantage of the reliability of LT codes. However the transmission method we put forward is quite different from the traditional ways of using LT codes, but with the ideas of exploiting the concept of network coding. We try to develop a novel transmission strategy which combines the characteristics of LT coding and network coding, and we will give numerical results to demonstrate that the proposed scheme is an effective scheme which offers reliable broadcast of data over the multi-hop network.
