Abstract
In this paper, we analyze the defects of LEACH protocol and clustering based on RSSI ranging algorithm. Mainly considering the network load balance, the residual energy and protocol overhead factors, an improved protocol is proposed based on LEACH protocol and uneven clustering. By simulating the improved protocol, a conclusion is drawn that the number of cluster head generated by the improved protocol is more stable than that of the unimproved LEACH protocol, and the improved protocol can extend the network lifetime effectively.
