Abstract
The effects of the ambient gases and electrode materials on electrical conduction in polyimide films were investigated experimentally. The ambient gas was found to influence the electrical conduction of PI films significantly. It is concluded that the observed phenomena should be taken into account not only in the evaluation of the electrical conductivity of insulating materials at high temperatures but also in the investigation of the conduction mechanism
