  • Abstract
    FlexRay is a high-speed communication protocol with high flexibility and reliability. First the FlexRay communication controller was designed in this research with bus guardian protocol specification using specification and description language (SDL). Based on SDL design principle, the communication controller of FlexRay system and the protocol operation controller of Bus Guardian system were used to design an integrated protocol operation controller. Then, the system was redesigned using Verilog HDL. The FlexRay system was synthesized by Samsung 0.35 um technology. The proposed chip contains FlexRay communication controller, Bus Guardian and Bus Driver controller. It is shown through the simulation that the designed system can operate in the frequency range up to 77 MHz.
