Abstract

Firstly, the article systematically summarizes the unprecedented problems and challenges which greenways is facing at home and abroad. Then, taking the greenways planning and design in Yi Country for example, the aims of this article are to integrate and coordinate the ecology, recreation, landscape, culture and heritage of each subsystem, to form greenways with harmonious environment, and to propose planning strategies and design methods of greenways in the sustainable living environment context. Finally it is to offer references to gradually establish and improve the theories and methods of greenways planning and design.
