Abstract :
The decentralized control of linear systems is studied in terms of the information structure graphs which define such systems. The controllable and observable spaces of acyclic and strongly connected systems with decentralized feedback are characterized. Implications on decentralized controllability and pole assignability are given. The results can be used to assist in the design of information structures.
