Abstract
The users in a cognitive radio system should employ an efficient power allocation algorithm to share the spectrum with the primary user and avoid interference to them. This paper proposes a power allocation algorithm for distributed cognitive radio systems, which can guarantee transmitting opportunities for more cognitive users while not impairing the QoS of primary users. The simulation results show that the proposed algorithm can increase the average data rate of cognitive users and the number of supported users compared with the Binary algorithm.
