Abstract :
Summary form only given. With modern nanofabrication techniques, surface plasmons can be engineered and controlled to yield unique optical properties which suggest many applications. This potential is well illustrated by the surface plasmon induced novel properties of subwavelength apertures. Recent work indicates that the phenomena observed in the optical range can be scaled to other frequencies such as THz.
