Abstract :
Data integration is particularly important to E-healthcare systems since data extracted from different data sources have little applied value unless they can be combined. A seamless support of data flow for increasingly distributed healthcare processes needs to integrate heterogeneous data into a comprehensive distributed information system. Different approaches contribute to ease this integration. This paper explores techniques for integrating data from heterogeneous systems. The goal is to facilitate data discovery and processing in ways that are less cumbersome than empirical techniques and offer a more holistic, task-oriented data integration than current approaches provide.
