  • Abstract
    Load balancing is a significant issue in a hybrid wireless environment. However, the existing algorithms cannot get good performance in a dynamic wireless environment and weight decision of these algorithms heavily depends on the arbitrary criteria. In this paper, a new access selection algorithm is proposed. Firstly, the performances of the network are evaluated in real-time. Secondly, Fuzzy analytic hierarchy process (FAHP) and entropy theory are used to ensure the objectivity of the weight decision. In addition, grey relational analysis (GRA) is used to rank the candidate network efficiently. To validate the performance of the new algorithm, simulations are conducted in a hybrid wireless environment with WiMax and LTE. The results of the simulations reveal that the access selection algorithm we proposed can reduce the blocking probability and balance the load of the network effectively.
