Abstract :
Sensor-MAC (S-MAC) is a medium access control protocol designed particularly for wireless sensor networks. In this paper, we introduce a global synchronization algorithm for wireless sensor networks and investigate several aspects of the algorithm. We show the algorithm has an acceptable scalability to the network size and also discuss about the time synchronization, oscillation and interference issues of the algorithm. In the simulation, we show the performance of the algorithm and measure the packet latency.
