Abstract :
The generation of short optical pulse with long repitition rate using the regenerative gain-switching technique is investigated. The pulse width of 64 ps and repetition rate 1 MHz using crystal stabilized InGaAsP Fabry Perot laser diode is demonstrated. The module has the advantages of light weight and small size for consumer usage.
