Abstract :
The purpose of this communication is to show some performances of a parametric method (or "high resolution method") applied to localization both in bearing and ranging of an immersed acoustic source. The chosen method uses the orthogonality properties of the sensor-to-sensor cross-spectral density matrix eigenvectors. It assumes spherical wavefronts and an a priori known spatial coherence form of the background noise. Results presented here are obtained in computing simulations, and concern influence of array geometry, source and model parameters, and presence of multipaths between source and receiving array (reflection on surface) ; in this last case, we show improvements obtained when the presence of this phenomenon is taken into account in the propagation model.
