Abstract
The authors are developing a domain-independent routine design shell called INDES-DESIGN. They describe their vision of the ultimate system, in addition to discussing the recently completed prototype. By viewing configuration as a constraint satisfaction problem, it can be performed independently of the domain. INDES-DESIGN will access the necessary domain-specific knowledge from a large repository of knowledge accessible throughout a client´s corporation
