Abstract :
This paper presents a new device for counting passengers in public transport. The device makes use of a specific acquisition technology based on linear cameras. Two kinds of algorithms (based respectively on mathematical morphology and averaging thresholding procedures) can be used for analyzing the image sequences and for counting the number of passengers walking under the cameras
