Abstract :
This presentation will focus on the need for standardised measurement of mechanical properties and some measurement techniques for structural ceramics. Properties considered are: strength and creep using 3 and 4 point flexural and uniaxial tension tests; fracture toughness using flexure and indentation tests; indentation hardness; elastic modulus using resonance methods
