Abstract :
Results are presented on nonsingular detection and the likelihood ratio when the noise is Gaussian, with no assumptions on the statistical properties of signal-plus-noise. A recursive discrete-time approximation to the likelihood ratio, suitable for implementation, is obtained. A procedure is given for estimating parameters of this approximation from experimental data.
