Abstract :
This paper presents the comparative approach of optical transmission in the physical layer to find BER using two techniques viz. 8B/10B coding technique and Systematic coding technique. In physical layer, transmission is done on bit by bit basis. Hence we deduce BER. Packet formation is done in the higher layer after minimizing BER..
