Abstract :
Collage, the core of post-modern art practices, a concept that has been extremely expanded in many areas, has gradually become a popular topic in the field of urban planning and landscape architecture. The popularity of the collage art, is a symbol of our society in which deconstruction and structure coexist, and restrict each other. Many of the landscape design process introduce the concept of “collage”, and show unique ways of thinking and design techniques of collage. This paper has made a thorough overview of the concept of collage, and other concepts and design techniques to achieve the concepts of organic renewal such as collage metaphysical against the city to copy, reconquest of time and n-times cutting and restructuring. The paper takes New Orleans Italy plaza as an example, analyzes post-modern collage design techniques in landscape design in specific applications, especially characteristic elements of collage and conversion of the concept of isomorphism. Consequently,the paper sums up the significance of the design collage, hoping through research and analysis to provide new reference for landscape design.
