Abstract :
Theravada temple is famous in its abundant types and distinct characteristics. The paper focuses on the development proceeding of Theravada temple in Yunnan and sum up the characteristics of evolution, which are discussed and analyzed in critical and ecological ways. Firstly, Theravada temple is homology with Theravada temple in Southeast Asian and develops in different flow. Secondly, it complies with local customs and adapts the natural and social environment. It is possible to say that Theravada architecture is the production and testimony of the Dai phylum culture circle.
