Abstract :
The advent of computer technology, especially advances in user-interface technology, has promoted the development of visual modeling paradigms and techniques for conceptual and quantitative modeling. These concepts, however, address only selected aspects of the problem solving process. In this paper we propose VIDEMO (visual interactive decision modeling), a generic problem solving approach that supports all stages of the analytic problem solving process: structural, formal, and resolution modeling. VIDEMO is based on a graph concept that visualizes the elements of decision making and their relations. The VIDEMO computer system is based on a click-and-drag approach that capitalizes upon advanced hypermedia user-interface techniques
