Abstract :
The environmental vibration induced by road traffic is studied on an actual building. The field measurement is implemented. The vibration data on ground and top floor are acquired to analyze the affect of vibration on the building. A dynamic numerical model of the building is built using ANSYS. The measured ground acceleration is inputted as the excitation to calculating the vibration response on the top floor. The results show that the dynamic model is feasible. On this basis, two control methods which are setting shear wall and installing diagonal brace, are proposed to reduce the vibration of building. The analysis result of vibration reducing effects indicates that the method of installing shear wall is better.
